Herb Shaw Selected PPUMC Quiet Disciple for 2010

Herb Shaw was truly surprised on Sunday, January 31st when our Lay Leader, Ann Keetch, announced to the congregation that he was selected our Quiet Disciple for this year. Ann told us that of five people voted for, Herb had more than double the number of votes everyone else received. While we have so many people who do so much for this faith community, Herb is truly deserving as he quietly works behind the scenes doing all kinds of things to enhance and ensure our faith community thrives.

His list of "giving of himself "to this faith community includes:"

Singing in the Choir
Serving on the Board of Trustees
Single-handedly renovating the main floor restroom. Repaired and repainted the handicapped ramp. Painted the Clothes Closet Room.
Designed and built shelves for the Clothes Closet.
Volunteers to serve students and teachers at the Bijou Alternative High School.
"Welcome To The Neighborhood" Coffee
All Star Student Breakfast
Christmas Student Gift Bags and Discussion
Teacher's Appreciation Luncheon
Supports Westside CARES at annual Prayer Breakfast
Regular participant in Men's Fellowship Breakfast
Invites neighbors and friends to worship and church programs and activities.

A true disciple of Jesus Christ and a blessing to our church family, Herb is most deserving of this honor. When you see him in church, offer your congratulations.
