Our Youth's Prospective on Camping
I had the incredible joy of sponsoring 8 young people on a Camping trip in late June. From my perspective, I found these young people to be caring and full of energy and Christian spirit. The only thing I could have wished for was more energy to keep up with them.
We hiked, sang camp songs, roasted marshmallows for s'mores, ate tons of food CI bad forgotten how much teenagers can eat), and had several lessons from the Bible. We shared the lesson,
from Genesis, of Noah, building an Ark while being ridiculed and how it relates to our lives in these times. And we shared perhaps the greatest of all lessons from John 3:16, where each one of us put our own name in it..."For God so loved fr~l, that He gave his only begotten Son"....showing the tremendous love that God has for each one of us.
I brought along a Bible for each camper, and asked each one to use it and ask questions about how those words and lessons relate to their lives today. The two "most helpful campers" were given a tee shirt which said "JesVSAvior", which shows that our great country is indeed in the middle of Jesus' love.
1n the end, I believe I had the best time of all. Our congregation is blessed to have this group of teens and I hope each one of you will take the time to get to know them on a personal level.

"What I liked about the camping was we camped right by a stream and when we went to bed you could hear the water. Early on the second day we hiked up Needle rock, it was a work-out getting there, but once we made it to the top it was really beautiful ...l also appreciate the trip and who put this altogether."

"We hiked, talked and by the end of the day we all were happy. We learned about God's creation and learned how to cook over a campfire. All of the kids had fun but most learned why the earth's green and nature has to stay and help us. So, thank you for a wonderful camping trip."

"I liked camping because I got to see some friends I haven't seen in awhile."

"This camping trip this year was amazing. The reservoir was beautiful, and it's good to get out of the city because it gives you a chance to clear your head. From this experience I Learned just to be yourself, live life every second and enjoy what life brings you."
