GREEN TEAM REPORT
We realize that we have not had an article for awhile, but when we have something that we think is newsworthy we will report it. Recently the City of Manitou Springs, where we reside, has decided to go with one trash service versus the three that they had. City Council thinks this will reduce noise in neighborhoods, reduce wear and tear to the City streets and cut down on air pollution. We realize that you in Colorado Springs have a choice of trash services and you are free to choose the service of your choice.
Bestway Disposal got the contract for Manitou Springs. In our estimation Bestway offers some good alternatives. They provide the containers, 1-32 gallon wheeled waste cart plus recycle cart and service $17.50 per month. 1-65 gallon wheeled waste cart plus recycle cart and service $17.75 per month. 1-95 gallon wheeled waste cart plus recycle cart and service $18.25 per month. There is no need to use plastic bags for your waste. The recycle cart is single stream. That means no sorting of recycles. You can also provide your own waste containers and Bestway will provide the recycle cart. You can call for information on this service at 633-8709. We think this is going to be a very good service especially since the recyclables do not have to be sorted. We are finding it saves much time and energy.
