Scripture reference:  Psalm 23: 1  "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want"

 

This week I was thinking about kittens and how cute they are.  Kittens are mostly all alike, they have four legs, two eyes, a mouth, a tail, a nose, whiskers and fur. Some are one color and some another color, but it is the person who loves kittens who sees them as beautiful, wonderful little animals!  This made me think of  how kittens are like children.  We are all mostly the same, we have legs, arms, ears, eyes, nose, mouth and although we are different colors, we are all humans!  When God looks at us, he sees us as His beautiful, wonderful children!  It is the fact that God loves us that makes us special!  

 

Just like when the cat owner sees the kittens, she looks at each one carefully and notices the different color of the kitten's eyes, maybe a different way of moving.  One kitten may be shy and quiet;  one may be bold and jump around a lot, but the owner thinks each kitten is terrific and special.

 

God looks at you and me in the same way.  You may have blue eyes or brown.  You may be shy and quiet or love to jump and run in the grass!  God sees each one of us and sees how different each of us is.  We are special because our creator God loves us.  He sees us as beautiful and wonderful children. 

 

We can understand how God loves his children when we think of how much a cat owner love their kittens.  It makes us feel safe and special to know our dear Lord loves us even more than a cat owner loves her kittens!  WOW that is a lot of love!
